Jerry A. Thompson, 67, of Kemp, passed away May 11, 2020 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2020, at the Cowboy Church of Corsicana, 5864 West Highway 31 in Corsicana.
He was born July 24, 1952, in Dallas to Paul H. Thompson and Doris Duckworth Thompson.
Jerry graduated from Kemp High School in 1972 and married Debra L. Rankin in September 1978.
Jerry was employed with CertainTeed in Dallas from 1972-1982, then went to work for the Vought/Northrop Gruman in Grand Prairie, then later for Triump in Red Oak as a machine repair mechanic for the last 38 years.
Jerry was a family man. He loved his family dearly, his children and grandchildren were his greatest joys.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Barbara Swaim, father-in-law Glenn Rankin and sister-in-law Cheryl Hinds.
Jerry is survived by wife Debra Rankin Thompson, daughter Kimberly R. Minzenmayer of Kemp, son Jeremy A. Thompson and wife Mickie of Kaufman, grandchildren Gracie Elizabeth Thompson and Emma Kate Thompson of Rice, Jared Ryan Minzenmayer of Kemp, and Dustin Thompson and Clayton Cargal of Kaufman, sisters Linda Litchfield of Gun Barrel City and Jane Ann and Keith Teague of Mabank, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Sharron Rankin of Kemp, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many cousins and extended family.
